Our sports
Gaelic football is a fast-paced team sport played with a round ball, combining elements of soccer and rugby. Players can carry, kick, and hand-pass the ball while trying to score by kicking it over the cross for a point or into the net for a goal.
Hurling and camogie feature players using a stick, known as the hurley, to hit the ball, known as the sliotar, into or above the opponent’s net. Players carry the ball up the field both in the hand, and by balancing the sliotar on the end of the hurley. Hurling is traditionally played by men, while camogie is traditionally played by women. The rules are almost identical between hurling and camogie, but there are a few differences.
Players
All players are required to register and pay membership dues with both with (United States Gaelic Athletic Association) and with Atlanta Clan na Ngael each year.
